Welcome to MonitorHound
Introducing MonitorHound — a new uptime monitoring platform built for developers and DevOps teams who need reliable, straightforward monitoring.
We are excited to introduce MonitorHound, a new uptime monitoring platform designed for developers and DevOps teams.
Why we built MonitorHound
We have spent years working with monitoring tools that are either too complex for simple use cases or too limited for production workloads. We wanted something in between: a monitoring service that is easy to set up, reliable in operation, and transparent in pricing.
MonitorHound monitors your websites, APIs, DNS records, and SSL certificates from multiple global locations. When something goes wrong, you are alerted immediately through email, SMS, or webhook.
What you can monitor
MonitorHound supports three types of monitors:
- HTTP Monitoring — Check any HTTP or HTTPS endpoint for availability, response time, status codes, and response body content.
- DNS Monitoring — Track DNS record changes, propagation issues, and resolution failures across record types including A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, and more.
- SSL Certificate Monitoring — Monitor certificate expiry dates, chain validity, and configuration issues with advance warning alerts.
Each monitor type is purpose-built to detect the specific failure modes that matter for that protocol.
How it works
Setting up monitoring takes less than two minutes:
- Create your free account
- Add the URL or hostname you want to monitor
- Configure your check interval and alert channels
- MonitorHound handles the rest
Checks run from multiple geographic locations. When a failure is detected, it is confirmed from additional locations before alerting — reducing false positives while keeping alert latency low.
Transparent pricing
Our pricing is simple: a free tier with 10 monitors and 5-minute checks, paid plans starting at $5/month for teams that need faster intervals and more capacity, and enterprise plans for organizations with advanced requirements. No hidden fees, no per-seat surprises.
What is next
We are actively building and shipping improvements. On our near-term roadmap:
- Advanced alerting with escalation policies and on-call schedules
- Detailed reporting and SLA tracking
- Additional check locations
We would love your feedback. If you have questions, feature requests, or just want to say hello, reach out to us.
