Quick Start
Create your MonitorHound account and set up your first uptime monitor in under two minutes.
Step 1: Create your account
Visit app.monitorhound.com/register and sign up with your email address. The free plan includes 10 monitors with 5-minute check intervals — no credit card required. Paid plans unlock 1-minute and 2-minute intervals, and Enterprise plans support custom intervals.
Step 2: Create your first monitor
After signing in, click New Monitor and fill in the basics:
- Monitor type — Select HTTP, DNS, or SSL
- URL or hostname — Enter the address you want to monitor (e.g.,
https://example.com) - Check interval — How often to run the check (1, 2, or 5 minutes — plan dependent, default: 5 minutes; Enterprise plans support custom intervals)
- Alert channels — Where to send notifications if the check fails
Click Create Monitor and your first check will run within seconds.
Step 3: Verify the check
Once created, your monitor will appear on the dashboard. You will see:
- Status — Whether the last check passed or failed
- Response time — How long the endpoint took to respond
Step 4: Configure alerts
By default, alerts are sent to your account email. To add more alert channels:
- Go to Channels in the sidebar
- Click Add Channel
- Choose email, SMS, or webhook
- Enter the destination details
- Assign the channel to your monitors
